Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Sanches 36', Stretton 86')
Stamford 0
Bromsgrove Sporting made it three home matches unbeaten on Tuesday evening, with a 2-0 victory over bottom placed Stamford.
A cracker from Gus Sanches was followed by substitute Brad Stretton scoring his first goal for the club late in the second half.
The visitors started the better of the two sides, with Kai Tonge having a couple of chances inside the first 30 minutes saved well by Sporting stopper Adam Harrison.
The 31st minute saw Sporting's Billy Shaw cap a marauding run forward with a strike that went narrowly wide.
The deadlock was broken in the 36th minute, as a Josh Ezewele cross into the area was spectacularly volleyed in by an aerial Sanches.
Stamford persistently knocked on the door in the early parts of the second half, with Fletcher Toll having an effort cleared off the line, and Harrison being equal to attempts by captain Harry Vince and Toll - the latter being a header that was tipped over the bar in miraculous fashion.
Soon after, Sanches pounced on a defensive mishap but put his strike over the bar and the 79th minute saw Charlie Pavey have a shot deflected wide for a corner
The lead was doubled with four minutes of normal time remaining; Charlie Pavey passed to Jack Kelly, who teed the ball up perfectly for Stretton to convert from close range.
