PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Belmonte on March Award Win

Prior to Monday’s game against Halesowen, midfielder Kyle Belmonte celebrated winning Player of the Month for March.

Kyle’s sponsor for the season is club volunteer Chris Curtis – he was represented on the day by friend Rob Birch, from our wonderful Ground Force team!

Kyle won March Player of the Month with 50% of the vote, seeing off competition from Luke Benbow, Rory Brown and Jack Newell

Brilliant performances across the month, especially in our win at Spalding, were undoubtedly factors in the creative midfielder winning the award.

On receiving the award, Kyle said: “Personally I’d like to thank all the fans that voted for me – it’s a great personal accolade to have, especially with it being my first month at the club!

“More importantly, on behalf of myself, the players and the staff, I’d like to thank them for their efforts and tireless support on Monday. In the second half especially, they got right behind us, and there’s no shying away from the fact when they’re with us and giving us the confidence boost we need as a team, we perform and start playing much better – everyone could see and feel that in the second half on Monday and, although we didn’t get anything out of the game, it goes a long way, so thank you once again.

“It’s not done there though – we need their support now even more than ever, especially with the final three games and the situation we are in. Step Three is the level this club should be and warrants to be at, but nothing is a given in life – for us to achieve that, we have to earn it, starting with Saturday’s game.

“This game is probably the biggest game of the club’s history in recent years – it’s a must win, and we need you with us, kicking and heading every ball along the way.

“The club, the players and the staff need all the support we can get, so let’s go fighting as one and see where it takes us. I look forward to seeing those travelling on Saturday – up the Rouslers!”

A thoroughly deserved award for Kyle, in what has been a great start for him in a Sporting shirt.
