Alvechurch 1 (Hadley 49')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
A Dylan Hadley goal was the difference between Alvechurch and Bromsgrove Sporting at Lye Meadow on Saturday afternoon.
The lively forward's 49th minute strike was a rare moment of quality in an otherwise drab encounter, which saw the windy weather have a massive impact on proceedings.
Sporting were arguably the brighter side in the first half and had the better of the chances in it; the 21st minute saw Billy Shaw have a shot from close range saved by Ronnie Hollingshead and, a little over a quarter of an hour later, Ben Richards-Everton made space for himself inside the box before putting an effort wide of the mark.
Shaw was involved in another decent chance for the Rouslers four minutes from the interval - his ball into the area found Miro Pais, but he was unable to find the target with his attempt.
The game's only goal came via Hadley cutting inside from a wide position, which allowed him to find the top corner with a beautifully curled right footed shot.
Soon after, Alvechurch's Nick Clayton-Phillips had a good ball into the box diverted for a corner by Richards-Everton whilst, up the other end, Pais had a strike blocked.
The 69th minute saw former Rousler Kartell Dawkins drive the ball wide. Eight minutes later, Sporting almost drew level, as Jack Newell found substitute Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham, but he narrowly missed the goal with his neatly taken shot.
Bromsgrove enjoyed more of the possession and territory in the final ten minutes, but they would ultimately find the equaliser elusive.
