LADIES
- After a very even start against Droitwich Spa Ladies, Sporting went 1-0 up with a header from Laura Shanley. In a very hard fought game, things started to get very niggly. The ladies showed their level of discipline and went on to score again, with a nicely taken goal by Vicky Grady. Bromsgrove then had a player sent off, which led to their backs being against the wall. But, again, the ladies showed composure and tenacity to deservedly win the game 2-0.
- The Player of the Match was Charlotte Lane.
- This Sunday, they are home at the UK Electrical Stadium to title favourites Redditch Borough Ladies (2:00 KO).
LADIES DEVELOPMENT
- The Ladies Development Team is the final leg of the pyramid into the first team, with a mixture of experience and youth in the side. They are still looking for a manager – contact Alan Williams on 07786 983 951 for more info.
- They played high flying Redditch Borough Development Ladies on Sunday with a depleted team and were a bit unfortunate not to get a result. The first half saw Bromsgrove be put under a lot of pressure but they were able to create a few chances. Borough scored two quick goals but Bromsgrove responded and got one back just before half time. The second half was a completely different affair, with Sporting attacking and making chances. However, they could not get the ball in the net and Borough made it 3-1. Not to be deterred, Bromsgrove rallied and Nat got her second of the game to make it 2-3. Game on, but with minutes left, an unfortunate own goal made it 2-4.
- They are at home to Droitwich Spa Ladies Development this Sunday (2:00 KO).
VETERANS
- The Veterans had more players not available than available on Sunday, as they went to Trooper with 13 players available – four of those were struggling badly with either an injury or illness. Trooper fielded their strongest side of the season, with two former Premier League players and two former Championship Players. Sporting started okay, but a block tackle led to Sporting’s first substitution fifteen minutes in. Trooper took the lead with a well worked goal on 20 minutes, then scored their second with a rocket from 25 yards five minutes later. Sporting somehow gained their composure, played some decent football and should have scored, but it was just a sign for the rest of the game! Five minutes from the end of the half, Trooper scored their third. Second half and Sporting made a Substitution due to an ill player feeling dizzy and sick. Tired legs and players struggling with injuries led to Trooper putting a further six goals past Sporting. Full time result was 9-0. Considering this was the weakest side Sporting had put out in its five year existence, it was good to see how they all stuck together. The only bonus will be when Trooper travel to Bromsgrove, it will be a very different side to greet them.Â
- They face Hollyfields away this Sunday (10:30 KO).

GIRLS
- Bromsgrove Sporting U10 Girls & U18 Girls – both had no fixture but are looking forward to an exciting weekend coming up.

- Bromsgrove Sporting U13 Girls. Won 0-7. Last week, the U13s travelled to Redditch Eagles, with a slightly depleted squad due to half-term holidays. This gave Bromsgrove a chance to try a slightly different setup, going 4-3-3 and giving the newer girls some much needed game time. They certainly stepped up to the mark, with Maddie, Gracie and Josie and Yin Yee settling nicely and covering loads of ground in midfield. Hollie got a start up front with Immy and Emilia, adding her usual work rate and explosive pace, which caused the Redditch defence problems all morning. The game started scrappily, with Redditch competing well, but Sporting started to settle and dominate the midfield, with Maddie playing brilliantly up against two players, coming out on top all game. After a couple of close chances, Sporting broke the deadock with Emilia breaking through and finishing well. The pattern of play continued, with Gracie taking her chance brilliantly 10 minutes later. 2-0 at half time. The second half saw Sporting take charge, asserting themselves on the game and creating numerous chances, whilst defending brilliantly when called upon. Emilia rounded off an exceptional Player of the Match performance, scoring a total of four goals. Immy joined in by adding two, being denied a hat trick with a rocket smashing off the crossbar. Sporting ran out comfortable winners – a fantastic performance and a great way to sign off for half term.
- This weekend, they have no fixture, returning for a home game against Ashton 88 on 9th November.
