Bromsgrove Sporting 0 (Godwin 45+1' Red Card)
Worcester City 1 (Smalley 61')
A Brandon Smalley goal was the difference between Bromsgrove Sporting and Worcester City, in a drab encounter at the UK Electrical Stadium.
The former Rousler netted in the 61st minute, after debutant Isaac Godwin was sent off for Sporting just before half time.
The 10th minute saw Luke Benbow almost put Sporting into the lead after an outstanding first touch, but he dragged his effort wide of the goal.
In the 36th minute, Matt Richards had the ball in the goal for Worcester, but it was ruled out for offside after Ellis Litherland made an initial save.
Niall Flint's spectacular rabona effort almost put Sporting into the lead moments later, but Sam Kane tipped it over.
The red card came in the first minute of first half added time, as Shrewsbury Town-loanee Godwin was given a second yellow card.
Josh Ezewele, Connor Stanley and Charlie Lutz all had big chances for the visitors early in the second half - Lutz's opportunity a one-on-one attempt that he somehow put wide.
Smalley netted from close range just after the hour mark, finding the goal with a well struck effort.
Sporting had a brilliant chance to equalise with six minutes of normal time remaining, as two substitutes Brad Stretton and Jack Kelly teamed up, with the former setting up the latter to strike - Kelly's shot was straight at Kane, however.
