Bromsgrove Sporting 0-3 Sporting Khalsa

On Tuesday evening Bromsgrove Sporting entertained Midland Premier League outfit Sporting Khalsa in the first round of the Polymac Packaging league cup at the Victoria Ground. The visitors came to the game after a strong 2-0 win in the Midland Premier Division.
The game was very even in the opening 25 minutes until The Khalsa skipper Tesfa Robinson, who was completely unmarked, stabbed in a corner at the far post on the 26th minute.
In response, Bromsgroves best chance fell to Robbie Bunn after a goal mouth scramble but he failed to convert the chance, shooting over the crossbar from 12 yards out, with the keeper in no mans land.
In the second half, Khalsa looked to increase their lead, as a goal line clearance was needed from Bromsgrove, as keeper Chris Jay was caught off his line, however just before the hour Bromsgrove gifted Khalsa their second when a mix up between Jay and Craig Jones allowed Nick Turton to slot into an empty net from a tight angle.
This woke Bromsgrove up into their best spell of the game, in the 70th minute, the Khalsa keeper, Tom Turner saved well at the feet of Tony Clarke before making a great reflex save from Ahemed Alis header, following the resulting corner.
Bromsgrove failed to capitalise on their pressure and when substitute Luke Shearer won and converted a penalty with five minutes to go it killed off any hope for the Rouslers.
The result flattered the visitors as both sides were equal on the evening, however Bromsgrove were punished by Khalsa for their three defensive mistakes.
