Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Robinson 32' P)
Harborough Town 2 (Morris 13', Carline 17')
Bromsgrove Sporting were far from disgraced on Tuesday evening, when they lost by just a single goal at home to highflying Harborough Town.
All the game's goals were scored in the first half - headed goals from defenders Alex Morris and George Carline inside the first 17 minutes gave indications that a proverbial cricket score was going to be the final outcome, but a 32nd minute penalty from Theo Robinson gave Sporting hope.
The second half was a relatively even affair, but one where the Rouslers ultimately found the equaliser elusive.
A free kick in the 13th minute caused all manner of problems for Sporting, as the towering Morris was on hand to head the ball home from close range.
The 17th minute saw the lively Terell Pennant cap a jinking run with a fierce shot that was well saved by Sporting stopper Rory Brown. Moments later, the lead was doubled, as Carline's header towards the back post found the net.
Sporting found a way back into the game when Rory McAuley was penalised for a handball offence inside the area - striker Robinson stepped up and confidently struck the ball home.
Three minutes later, Bromsgrove almost bagged the equaliser, as a cracker of a cross from Jaden Charles was headed narrowly wide by skipper Aaron Roberts.
Jack Kelly and Robinson both had efforts midway through the second half saved by Bees keeper Elliott Taylor.
Up the other end, Danny Newton almost netted when he charged down a kick from Brown - the ball tricked narrowly wide however. Sporting dramatically cleared a Harborough chance off the line in the 78th minute.
Sporting substitute Luke Benbow had a volley saved in the 87th minute, whilst Josh Walsh missed the target for the visitors in the fourth minute of additional time.
