Banbury United 3 (Wreh 3' & 65', Ofosu 58')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0

Banbury United recorded just their second league clean sheet of the season on Tuesday evening, courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Bromsgrove Sporting.

A third minute goal from Chris Wreh immediately put the Rouslers on the back foot, before a Yaw Ofosu header and another from Wreh made it a night to forget in Oxfordshire for Sporting.

The deadlock was broken via a corner into the box that Bromsgrove were unable to clear, going on to be bundled in by Wreh.

The lively Joel Anker sliced a shot wide in the 20th minute, whilst Sporting's James Sanderson had a strike deflected over the bar five minutes later.

Sanderson had further opportunities to level the scoring moments later, but his two chances in quick succession were saved well by Banbury keeper Jack Harding.

The 55th minute saw Billy Shaw shoot narrowly wide from around 20 yards - Puritans captain Ofosu took advantage of these missed Sporting chances, heading home from close range three minutes later.

Gus Sanches struck a 63rd minute effort straight at Harding as Sporting hunted to halve the deficit - the game's final goal came in the 65th, as Wreh was on hand to knock in a rebound from a saved Connor Ferguson shot.

The 77th minute saw arguably Sporting's best chance of scoring, as Sanches struck a brilliant one on one opportunity wide of the target.

With eight minutes remaining, substitute Ferguson would have gotten on the scoresheet, were it not for the ball touching an offside Wreh on the way in.
