Redditch United 1 (Boothe 90+8')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
Former Rousler Ryan Boothe came back to haunt his former team on Saturday afternoon, as his goal in eight minute of second half additional time guided Redditch United to their first win in 10 league matches.
The striker, who had only been on the pitch for seven minutes after coming on as a late substitute, rose highest in the area to head the ball home at the near post.
The 16th minute saw Sporting stopper keep out an Anthony Dwyer strike from inside the area.
Bromsgrove's Jamie Meddows played in Theo Robinson in the 35th minute, but his effort was hit straight at former Bromsgrove keeper, Ollie Taylor.
Nine minutes into the second half, Sporting thought they had scored the opener; an Aksum White cross was headed into the net by Jack Newall, but the referee contentiously blew for a foul on defender Kyle Rowley, putting a swift halt to the Bromsgrove celebrations.
Billy Shaw, who had joined Redditch from Bromsgrove earlier in the season before returning, almost put the Rouslers into the lead with 20 minutes remaining, but his shot from inside the area at the back post was saved by Taylor.
Price kept out a Cyrus Babaie one-on-one effort in the 88th minute, whilst a Meddows free kick three minutes into additional time missed everybody in the area and was palmed away by Taylor.
The game's only goal was scored with the last opportunity of the game, as Boothe confidently headed home past Price to send the home support into scenes of rapturous celebration - a goal that will have significantly boosted their hopes of league survival.
