LADIES
- The Ladies made the short trip to local rivals Redditch United on Sunday, as they looked to finish the 24/25 season on a high. Sporting started the game with great intensity, pressing Redditch well to create chances, but struggled to get shots away. As the game progressed, Sporting controlled the tempo, forcing Redditch to play long balls to clear their lines – goalless at half time. The second half saw Sporting make a few changes to push for the winning goal. The dominance from Sporting continued at the start of the half, with a solid defence from the front, not letting Redditch play their football. As the second half moved on, Redditch managed to get some momentum, hitting the post on 83 minutes. After this, it was time for young goalkeeper Rosie Parslow to make her return from injury, to a great response from the Sporting following. Rosie was straight into the action as Redditch managed to get in behind the Sporting defence, but Rosie was off her line quickly to reach the ball before the striker to stop the attack. In the 88th minute, Redditch had a penalty claim ignored by the referee, who played the advantage as the striker got into a good position and got her shot away. Unhappy with the call, the Redditch striker was sent to the sin-bin for dissent. From the resulting corner, Sporting broke away with Laura Shanley, who timed her pass nicely into Elle H-P. Elle’s touch took her past the final defender and into the penalty area, 1-on-1 with the Redditch goalkeeper, from which she slotted the ball into the bottom left corner as the clock hit the 90 minute mark. The Ladies finish the season how they wanted – with a well-deserved victory. Final score – Redditch United 0 – 1 Bromsgrove Sporting.

- Bromsgrove Sporting U10 Girls. They played their final game of the season at the weekend, away to a strong Catshill Under 10s Girls team. With a new goalkeeper and a fresh formation in place, the girls took to the pitch with a few early nerves. Catshill applied pressure early on, but Sporting gradually found their rhythm, growing into the game and showing great determination. As the first half progressed, Bromsgrove began to push forward more confidently, displaying the skills and teamwork they’ve worked hard on throughout the season. The girls welcomed the half-time whistle after a challenging but promising opening period. After a positive team talk and a few key tactical changes during the break, the girls returned to the pitch with renewed energy and purpose. The second half was much more balanced, with Bromsgrove creating more chances and competing well across the pitch. Though the result didn’t go Sporting’s way, it was a proud performance that reflected how much this team has grown over the season. Every single player has made fantastic progress – their passion, teamwork, and commitment have been a joy to watch. The management would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the girls for their hard work, dedication, and positive attitude throughout the year – they couldn’t be prouder.
