At our season finale last Saturday, we held our awards presentation, recognising the achievements of the team and the club as a whole. There were several awards given out, and they were as follows…
APRIL PLAYER OF THE MONTH
- Prior to the match last Saturday, forward Jamie Meddows celebrated winning the April Player of the Month accolade with his sponsor for the season, Andrew Clarke, of Spartan Hot Tub Hire.
- Jamie, who was winning his third Player of the Month award this season, won April’s with 39% of the vote.
GOAL OF THE SEASON
- Also prior to the game, the Kevin-Baggott sponsored Carter Lycett celebrated winning Goal of the Season with club chairman Rod Brown.
- Carter, who won the Jukes Insurance-sponsored award for his goal against Lowestoft Town, did so with 46% of the vote.
FANS PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Forward Jamie Meddows, who also finished the season as our top goalscorer, won the Fans Player of the Season accolade, as voted for by fans at our Good Friday fixture versus Biggleswade Town.
- This was awarded by club volunteers Mike Chance and Andrew Stephens.
- On Twitter/X, Jamie commented: “Delighted to win supporters player of the season – it’s means a lot and thank you for the votes.”
MANAGER’S PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Gaffer Scott Adey-Linforth chose midfielder Billy Shaw as the manager’s player of the season (both pictured below).
- On Twitter/X, Billy commented: “Great feeling to win this. Big thanks to the manager and supporters this year, as well my teammates, who have been brilliant.”
DIRECTORS PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- The club’s directors chose defender and club record appearance holder Aaron Roberts as their player of the season.
- This was awarded to him by our Director of Football, Graham Scott.
- On Twitter/X, Aaron commented: “First time for this one and, as always, I appreciate anyone who voted. On a team note. I’m so proud of my team. Nine points at Christmas, with the toughest fixtures in the league on the horizon. We stayed up comfortably and have a young, up and coming manager in the ranks. Hopefully see you all next year!”
PLAYERS PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Jamie Meddows‘ successful day wasn’t over, as he also picked up the Players Player of the Season, awarded to him by captain Reece King.
- On Twitter/X, Jamie commented: “Finishing with 18 goals and 16 assists, it’s been a great season and I enjoyed it all. A massive thanks to the management, my teammates and the fans.”
CHAIRMAN’S SPECIAL AWARD
- There were four recipients of chairman Rod Brown’s Special Award, as a thank you for their hard work throughout the season
- From left to right (with Chairman Rod Brown furthest left), there is Football Development Officer Iain Queen, Director and Matchday Safety Officer Rob McLaren, and Max Banner & Chris Jepson from the club’s media team!
PLAYER THANK YOUS
- The players were extremely kind enough to pool some money together to show their appreciation to Max and Chris from the club’s media team, groundsman Rob (bottom right), and kitman Dean (bottom left), for all their hard work over the season!
- Representing the players was captain Reece King!
FLORAL THANK YOUS
- On behalf of the players, captain Reece King handed bouquets to volunteers Andrea, Sandra and Sarah (top row).
- Whilst chairman Rod Brown gave blooms to Sarah, Sandra, Della and Anita (who was working behind the bar at the time!)
- Sandra and Sarah (pictured together, bottom row) run our front office on matchdays (amongst many other things!), Andrea helps out with our hospitality for away club officials, Della (pictured on the bottom row with chairman Rod Brown) oversees all our catering, and Anita looks after our bar and club shop!
- We thank all of them for their tireless work and endeavour for our club!
Our thanks go to everybody who has made a positive impact at our club at any point over the course of the season – it is greatly appreciated!
