NEWS SUMMARY: The Latest From Sporting

The following is a Sporting news summary, outlining bits of information that you may find of interest…

WEDDING AT SPORTING

  • Last month, our Rousler Bar was used for the ‘most wonderful’ wedding reception, in the words of the bride.
  • All staff were praised, with a particular mention for our bar manager Ella, who went ‘above and beyond’ to make the evening ‘so perfect’.
  • The bride added: “Ella’s communication and ability to put us at ease to the run up to our day was spot on. The venue was perfect and all our guests had such a great night. We would definitely recommend to anyone planning a party and we will definitely be booking again for future celebrations.”
  • If you would like to hold your special occasion at Bromsgrove Sporting’s Rousler Bar, contact our bar manager Ella on 07454451655 or emailing Barmanager@bromsgrovesporting.co.uk.

  • On Tuesday 8th October, the club will hold its next Non League Networking session. This session will see James Grainger, from valued club sponsor Express Vehicle Contracts, deliver an informative team talk.

CHARITY GAME

  • Earlier this month, chartered accountants Ormerod Rutter held a charity football match at our UK Electrical Stadium to raise money for Birmingham Hospice, in memory of their colleague Will, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
  • A huge £3,058 was raised, which will all go to funding specialist end of life care for people living with a terminal diagnosis, and for their families.

PAUL CHESTON

  • Prior to our home FA Cup match against Belper Town, we held a minute’s silence to honour the passing of loyal fan and stalwart of the Bromsgrove Sporting (formerly Rovers) Supporters Society, Paul Cheston.

  • His relatives kindly asked if his season ticket could be given away – our directors chose Marie Huskinson, a passionate supporter of the team who also helps out with our Ladies side. She’s pictured receiving the ticket from vice chairman Graham Scott.
