Bromsgrove Sporting 0 (Edge Red Card 90+4')
Bromsgrove win 5-4 on penalties
Following a goalless 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out was required to determine the victor between Worcester Raiders and Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday evening - with the visitors running out 5-4 winners.
After nine successful spotkicks between the two sides, Sporting stopper Rory Brown saved the tenth from Ben Sanogo, which secured the Rouslers' path to the semi final of the Worcestershire Senior Cup, where they'll face Redditch United.
Sporting had a brilliant chance to open the scoring after just five minutes, but Gus Sanches saw his shot from close range saved by Charlie Emery after taking down a long ball from Ethan Young in style.
A minute later, Brown had to be alert to palm away a shot from the lively Bailey Fuller.
23 minutes in, Bromsgrove's Charlie Pavey had a couple of strikes inside the area blocked in quick succession.
Raiders' biggest opportunity of the match came in the 64th minute - Manny Olaloko found himself in a one-on-one position with Brown, but his strike could only find the feet of the Bromsgrove keeper.
Soon after, Brad Stretton had got himself in on goal, but could only hit his attempt straight at Emery.
The 77th minute saw Raiders skipper Jordan Murphy narrowly head a pinpoint Fuller free kick wide, whilst Stretton hit the topside of the crossbar with a curling effort five minutes later.
Sporting's Jack Newell had a shot deflected wide with three minutes of normal time remaining; the fourth minute of added time saw the away side reduced to ten men, as Tom Edge was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
The final opportunity before the penalty shootout went the way of Stretton - he, like Newell moments before, saw his drive deflected off target for a corner.
As for the penalties; Billy Shaw, Newell, substitute Koby Arthur, Stretton and Sanches all netted for Sporting with confident strikes.
Raiders also had a 100% record from their penalties - that was until their final one, which Brown saved from Sanogo via an assertive dive to his right hand side.
