Leek Town 3 (Hurst 62' P & 90+4', Shenton 82')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
For the second consecutive match, Bromsgrove Sporting fell to a 3-0 away defeat, this time at the hands of Leek Town in the First Round Proper of the FA Trophy.
Two goals from Alex Hurst and one from Ollie Shenton were enough to send the Rouslers out of the competition.
Bromsgrove's Charlie Pavey had a couple of early chances to open the scoring, but both of his strikes were narrowly wide of the target.
Up the other end, Liam Buckley, Adam Porter and Lucas Weir all had opportunities for the home side, with Buckley's hitting the post and Porter's producing a save from Sporting stopper Adam Harrison.
The 52nd minute saw Sporting's James Sanderson have a strike tipped wide by Leek keeper Dino Visser, whilst Harrison had to be alert to keep out a low Jordan Hodkin effort six minutes later.
The deadlock was broken in the 62nd minute, as Hurst slotted home from the penalty spot after Jack Kelly was penalised for a handball offence.
The 72nd minute saw Sporting have a golden opportunity, as substitute Reece King found himself in on goal in a one on one position - unfortunately, his shot was hit straight at Visser.
Soon after, Harrison made an incredible instinctive save from a close range Weir shot before keeping out a Tom Curl strike in fine style.
Shenton found the net with a left footed effort from inside the area with eight minutes of normal time remaining and the scoring was complete in the fourth minute of additional time, as Hurst doubled his tally for the afternoon with a well taken shot.
