Harborough Town 1 (O'Sullivan 67', O'Sullivan Red Card 80')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
Harborough Town's unbeaten start to the league season continued on Saturday afternoon, with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bromsgrove Sporting.
A second half goal from substitute Riley O'Sullivan was the difference between the two sides, in a match where Sporting could count themselves extremely unlucky not to take anything away from it.
The 3rd minute saw Sporting's Josh Ezewele put a cross into the box that Reece King headed towards goal - unfortunately for the Rouslers, his effort was cleared off the line.
Andre Changunda had a right footed strike saved well by Sporting stopper Adam Harrison moments later, before Aston Villa-loanee Charlie Pavey had a well struck effort palmed wide by Harborough keeper Elliott Taylor in a frenetic opening 15 minutes.
Pavey put a free kick over the bar in the final moments of the half - a 45 minutes in which the visitors were the dominant side.
The 66th minute saw O'Sullivan introduced to the match from off the bench - inside a minute, he had scored. He brought the ball down in the area via his chest and subsequently powered home a strike into the net.
Soon after, he hit the side netting with an attempt and his whirlwind afternoon came to a dramatic end in the 80th minute. Firstly, he received a yellow card for apparent simulation inside the box, which led to him throwing a boot to the floor in anger, for which he was given a second yellow card and, with that, his marching orders. For O'Sullivan, this was his second red card in five days, after being sent off in the Bees' FA Cup exit to Altrincham on Tuesday evening.
Sporting substitutes James Sanderson and Jordan Lyden both had late opportunities to clinch a deserved point for the visitors, but neither were able to find the target.
