Harborough Town 2 (Patterson OG 49', Stephens 90+3')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
Bromsgrove Sporting's winless league run continued on Tuesday evening, as they lost 2-0 at Harborough Town.
The hard work of a strong defensive first half display from the Rouslers was undone just four minutes into the second, via an Ethan Patterson own goal.
The lead was double in the third minute of added time, courtesy of a lobbed effort from Ben Stephens.
Sporting stopper Charlie Price was called into action in the 12th minute to divert a Josh Walsh strike from distance wide.
Bromsgrove's Charlie Wragg had an effort saved five minutes later, whilst the 25th minute saw the Bees' Jutorre Burgess have penalty claims ignored after going down in the box.
The final few minutes of the opening 45 saw Price save a Riley O'Sullivan strike and a Dan Forbes header, before Ash Carter was forced to make a heroic block from a Stephens headed effort.
The deadlock was broken in the 49th minute, when a cross from Walsh into the area was miskicked by Patterson, leading to the ball trickling backwards and into the net.
Sporting had a couple of big chances around the hour mark; firstly, Patterson almost made amends for the own goal but his effort from a corner was somehow kept from going over the line by keeper Elliott Taylor before new addition Fin Holmes missed a golden opportunity to equalise when he missed the target with a strike from just inside the box.
The Rouslers' Carter Lycett had a couple of free kicks on the edge of the area inside the final 10 minutes of normal time, but spurned both by putting them well over the bar.
Victory for the home team was confirmed in additional time, as Stephens smartly looped the ball over Price's head and into the goal.
