Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Newell 19')
Stourbridge 0
A Jack Newell goal was the difference between Bromsgrove Sporting and Stourbridge at the Victoria Ground on Boxing Day.
The midfielder's header in the 19th minute saw the Rouslers extend their current unbeaten run to three matches.
Alfie Steward had a chance inside the first minutes for the visitors but he couldn't find the target from the edge of the area.
The 12th minute saw Keiron Berry rifle an effort towards goal that Stourbridge keeper Charlie Price was equal to.
The only goal of the game came seven minutes later, as a Conor Tee corner was guided by player-manager Mike McGrath into the path of Newell, who headed home at the back post.
The Glassboys enjoyed chances later in the first half but were unable to make the most of them, as Steward and Ethan Freemantle put headers wide before former Rousler Charlie Dowd struck a shot over the bar from a decent position.
Freemantle had an overhead kick deflected wide for a corner three minutes into the second half whilst substitute Jack Fletcher fired a shot straight at Sporting keeper Ollie Taylor just after the hour mark.
Tee had a free kick headed wide by Aaron Forde with 12 minutes of normal time remaining; Stourbridge skipper Reece King had a couple of headed efforts shortly after but to no avail, as the Bromsgrove defence stood strong to ensure the team would land all three points.
