Bromsgrove Sporting 0
Stamford 1 (Shaw 4')
Play-off hunting Stamford bagged a massively important win at Bromsgrove Sporting, with Lee Shaw scoring the decisive goal.
The Stamford attacker scored in the fourth minute, netting from close range after a cross into the box put the ball onto a plate for him. The remainder of the game proved to be a somewhat drab affair.
Sporting had a couple of good chances shortly after the goal, as Fin Holmes capped a jinking run into the area with a fierce strike that went just over the bar before Jamie Soule struck an effort narrowly wide on his home debut.
Stamford's Tobias Liversidge had a shot blocked in the 41st minute, whilst Bromsgrove's Carter Lycett made an outstanding block off the line to keep out a Jack Duffy strike a minute later.
Liversidge put a chance over in the 65th minute and substitute Charlie Marzano had a shot deflected out for a corner 15 minutes later.
Duffy attempted to lob Charlie Price in the 90th minute, but the Sporting stopper claimed the effort with ease.
Jamie Meddows and Luke Rowe both had strikes blocked for the home side in additional time, but they were ultimately unable to find an equaliser.
For Sporting, it was their third home game without a win, with Stamford winning after two consecutive defeats on the road.
