Sporting were cruelly denied a share of the points against league leaders Brocton when referee Mr Parkes overruled his linesman and awarded the home side what was to be their winning goal halfway through the second half.
Substitute Jack Lees tapped home from short-range moments after one of his colleagues looked to have been in an offside position but he was deemed not to be interfering with play so the goal stood.
Robert Tomlinson have given Brocton the lead in the first half when he scrambled the ball into the net from a corner but it was somewhat against the run of play as Bromsgrove had dominated proceedings up to then.
Sporting could have had their noses in front in the first minute had they been awarded a penalty for what looked like a handball in the box but it was not given. But it was not all the away side and moments later Sam Bell scraped the bar with a long-range effort.
Shortly after the interval Mark Bellingham got his first for the club heading home Will Tibbetts corner kick. Sporting then went after the lead but as in the first half they created some good chances but their finishing let them down.
Brocton held on for what was an entertaining match and a credit to non-league football. Plenty of quality passing on a good pitch and a high work rate from both sides.
Sporting deserved more but in other matches they will play less well but still take the points.
They now have another league on Saturday when they take on Pershore Town.
