Bedford Town 3 (Lobjoit 26' & 51', Blake 76')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
Bromsgrove Sporting's five match unbeaten run on the road came to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they were comfortably beaten by Bedford Town.
A brace from the prolific Leon Lobjoit, which was followed by a goal for Ryan Blake, were enough to send the Eagles back to the summit of the Southern League Premier Central.
Lobjoit almost broke the deadlock inside the first minute, but his shot from close range was blocked away.
Further chances came Bedford's way, as Eddie Panter skimmed a strike narrowly wide in the 18th minute before Carl Mensah had an effort cleared off the line seven minutes later.
The opener came 26 minutes in, as Lobjoit neatly curled a shot into the goal from inside the box.
Three minutes later, Ellis Bates had a shot smartly tipped over by Sporting stopper Charlie Price, whilst Panter had a couple of opportunities later in the half but was unable to make the most of them.
Sporting's best chance of the opening 45 came with two minutes of normal time remaining, as Carter Lycett's strike flew just over the bar after being set up by Jamie Soule.
The Rouslers' start to the second half was positive, with Jamie Meddows finding Billy Shaw, who shot the ball straight at keeper Jameson Horlick.
However, this strong beginning was quickly ended, as the second goal was scored in the 51st minute. Price brilliantly diverted a Lewis Hilliard strike onto the post but Lobjoit was on hand to stick in the rebound to double his tally for the afternoon.
Bromsgrove had chances to get on the scoresheet just after the hour mark, with Theo Robinson heading wide before Soule had a shot tipped wide by Horlick at his near post.
The scoring was complete in the 76th minute, as the impressive Panter teed up Blake, who converted from yards out.
The 85th minute saw Bromsgrove substitute Jack Newall have a shot blocked, before Meddows had a strike well saved by Horlick, as Bedford would go on to record just their second clean sheet at home in the league this season.
