New additions for Bromsgrove Sporting proved influential in the Rouslers' 0-0 draw at Banbury United on Saturday afternoon.

Ash Carter, Josh Ezewele and Carter Lycett, who all joined the club on Thursday, made their debuts and helped the Rouslers keep a much needed clean sheet.

The first chance of the game fell to the home side, as Jaanai Gordon had a close range header saved impressively by Sporting stopper Charlie Price in the 9th minute.

Bromsgrove's Charlie Wragg had a couple of chances inside the first half hour; firstly, he had a 16th minute effort saved by Banbury's Jack Harding after being set up by a superb ball from Jack Newell. Then, 10 minutes later, his header from a chipped Carter cross was tipped over the bar.

The remainder of the half was pretty devoid of chances; the Puritans' George Ball missed the target on two occasions, whilst Harry Reilly saw a shot from a decent position blocked for a corner by a Sporting defender in added time.

Gordon headed a free kick wide in the 56th minute and Wragg put a strike well over the bar four minutes later.

Both teams enjoyed plenty of the ball as the second half progressed, but had few clear cut opportunities to show for it. Ezewele had a 66th minute shot inside the area blocked and Sporting substitute Theo Robinson curled a shot into Harding's grasp ten minutes later.

Bromsgrove had one final chance of breaking the deadlock in the third minute of additional time, but Robinson struck wide after being smartly played in by Newell.
