In the Southern League Central battle of Worcestershire, it was Alvechurch who came out on top on Tuesday evening, with a 3-0 win over Bromsgrove Sporting.
A first half strike from former Rousler Charlie Dowd was followed by a brace for striker Danny Waldron, to leave Sporting rooted to the bottom of the league table after two games.
Bromsgrove were arguably the better side in the early stages, with Nehemia Zazi and Nathan Hayward both having efforts.
However, it would be Alvechurch who would take the lead, in the 24th minute, as Waldron had a shot blocked, only for Dowd to poke the rebound into the bottom corner.
Sporting's Kieran Dunbar had a free kick from the edge of the area moments later, but could only find the yellow wall of the home side.
An oncoming Max Beardmore brilliantly saved a Waldron one on one three minutes into the second half, but the former Leamington man would eventually get his name on the scoresheet nine minutes later, as he was allowed a free header inside the six yard box, which he nodded in with ease.
Beardmore had to be alert soon after to save a Sam McLintock header, before another ex-Rouslers, Josh Ezewele, hit the rebound over.
The 83rd minute saw Sporting substitute Demetri Brown have a cross-shot tipped over the bar by Dan Jezeph.
The scoring was complete five minutes into injury time, as James Mace committed a foul in the area, from which Waldron dispatched the subsequent spotkick, grazing the fingers of Beardmore as it went in.
