At our season finale last Saturday, we held our awards presentation, recognising the achievements of the team and the club as a whole. There were several awards given out, and they were as follows…
FANS’Â PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Defender and captain Aaron Roberts, won the Fans Player of the Season accolade, as voted for by fans at our Easter Monday fixture versus Halesowen Town.
- This was awarded to him by dedicated supporter, Ian Clarke.
- On winning this award, Aaron commented: “First of all, a huge thank you to those of you who voted for me to win your Player of the Season. There’s a few jokes within the dressing room about my connection with the fanbase and we actually joked before kick off that I wouldn’t be getting any awards this season, but you backed me, so I was able to give the lads some stick (Jordan Lyden!) but it was all tongue in cheek. I’m very proud to be chosen for the second time in three years by our fantastic fanbase for my contribution this season. I love you all and wish you a very enjoyable summer, before we get our season started again in a couple of months!”

MANAGER’S PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Gaffer Tim Flowers chose midfielder George Wynne as the Manager’s Player of the Season (both pictured below).
- On winning this award, George commented: “I’m grateful to the manager for this award and for the opportunity this season to experience men’s football for the first time. I’m proud to be part of a team who fought hard and secured our place in the league. Thank you to everyone for making me feel welcome.”

DIRECTORS’ PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- The club’s directors chose defender Luke Softley as their Player of the Season.
- This was awarded to him by our Adam Hutchison, from our new consortium.
- On winning this award, Luke commented: “I’m delighted to have won Directors’ Player from the board, many of whom travel home and away with us and come to every match. It’s an honour that they have recognised me and appreciated me again. A shoutout to our amazing fans for travelling and supporting us home and away too this season; especially at the back end – it was amazing.

PLAYERS’ PLAYER OF THE SEASON
- Luke Softley’s successful day wasn’t over, as he also picked up the Players’ Player of the Season.
- This was awarded to him by Gary Hooper, son of Bromsgrove Rovers legendary goalkeeper Chris – the prize being the inaugural Chris Hooper Memorial Shield, to commemorate Chris, who sadly passed away in November last year.
- On winning the Chris Hooper Memorial Shield, Luke commented: “I’m delighted to have won Players’ Player and to win the Chris Hooper Memorial Shield. It’s one of the big ones everyone wants to win, as it means the boys have appreciated me this season and, being one of the youngest in the group, it means a lot.”

CHAIRMAN’S SPECIAL AWARD
- Our tremendous Ground Force team were the recipients of chairman Rod Brown’s Special Award, with Rob Birch on hand to collect the award on behalf of the whole team!

FAN OF THE YEAR
- Lynn Harris picked up Fan of the Year, which was awarded to her by chairman Rod Brown, along with fellow fan Kev Young.
- Lynn and Kev are two of our amazing volunteers at Sporting, and this award for Lynn is so richly deserved!

OTHER AWARDS
- Jack Kelly was awarded with his April Player of the Month earlier in the day, given to him by his sponsors for the season, the Sidewinders!
- Luke Benbow and Jack Kelly finished top of the charts this season for goals and assists, respectively.
- Billy Shaw collected an award before the match to celebrate his landmark achievement of 100 appearances for the club. This was given to him by Chris Fox, representing the Fox Family – Billy’s sponsor for the season!
Congratulations go to all our award winners – their efforts are greatly appreciated, no matter what they have contributed to the club this season!
