At our final away game of the season, against Stratford Town, midfielder Billy Shaw played his 100th game for Sporting.
At our season finale against Real Bedford, he marked this special milestone with an award. It was given to him by Chris Fox, on behalf of Billy’s sponsor for the season, the Fox family. Here, he reflects on the landmark achievement…
“It’s a great feeling to finally reach 100 appearances for such a fantastic club. I’ve played for a few teams over the years, but I have felt at home here.
I’m really grateful to the fans, volunteers and directors for making me feel so welcome from day one – even if you might not have known who I was at the time!
It has probably taken a little longer than I would have liked due to injuries and a short spell away, but I’m proud to have got there in the end. To get to 100 at Stratford and help secure our place at Step Three made it even more special.

There have been plenty of highs and a fair share of lows since my first game, but I have been lucky to share the dressing room with some great lads, which has made my time here even more enjoyable.

I’m looking forward to hopefully making many more appearances. The future at the club is promising, and the fans deserve far more than what they’ve seen over the past couple of seasons. Up the Sporting!”
