Kettering Town 1 (Hart 56')
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (King 24', Soule 26')
Bromsgrove Sporting returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of a richly deserved 2-1 victory at Kettering Town.
Goals from Reece King and debutant Jamie Soule midway through the first half put the Rouslers in a commanding position.
Ben Hart pulled one back for the home side 11 minutes into the second half, but that would prove to be the game's final goal, with Sporting inflicting a first home league defeat of the season onto the Poppies - who were 12 unbeaten beforehand.
The visitors got off to a flying start, with efforts from both Carter Lycett and Luke Rowe inside the opening five minutes forcing Kettering keeper Dan Jezeph into fine saves.
The opener came 24 minutes in, as a cracker of a cross from Lycett was headed in from close range by King.
The lead was doubled just two minutes later - Jamie Meddows played in Weston-super-Mare loanee Soule, who had his initial shot saved before getting to the ball first thereafter, from which he tapped home into an empty net.
Just before the half hour mark, the Sporting defence had to stand strong, with Aksum White blocking an Isiah Noel-Williams effort before Aaron Roberts sensationally cleared a Nile Ranger strike off the line.
Kettering halved the deficit in the 56th minute, as Hart capped off a decent team move with an authoritative drive into the net.
A marauding run forward from Meddows in the 63rd minute resulted in the Bromsgrove attacker having a shot saved by Jezeph at his near post, whilst Sporting substitute Billy Shaw headed over a Rowe corner 10 minutes later.
Up the other end, Kettering substitute Terell Pennant had a couple of opportunities inside the final 10 minutes of normal time, including a blocked shot in the 82nd minute.
Sporting would go on to manage the seven minutes of added time well, with striker Theo Robinson having the best chance of this period - a strike from around 20 yards that missed the target.
For Sporting, this win would extend their current unbeaten run on the road to five matches.
