Welcome Darryl

We are delighted to announce the loan signing of promising defender Darryl Powell. Darryl joins us from Lincoln on work experience terms until the end of the season.

Darryl started his football education at Nottingham Forest, before joining Lincoln City in the summer of 2021. Upon signing for Lincoln the club stated that the 6’ 4” centre defender is “aggressive, tall and powerful” and that he “enjoys the physical side of the game.”

Darryl, has recently been playing regular first team football at Yaxley FC and with recent injuries and suspensions will offer us options in defence.

Darryl is a second generation footballer with his father, and namesake having played for Portsmouth, Derby County and Birmingham City, whilst also representing Jamaica at international level.

We thank Lincoln for allowing Darryl to link up at Sporting with his teammate Nathan Kabeya. Darryl will be available for Saturday’s trip to Leiston.
