It was an unfortunately quiet week for Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s, after their eagerly anticipated home game against Solihull Sporting U21s was postponed.
Despite the best efforts from the groundstaff, the top of the pitch became waterlogged and the match was forced to be called off.
The fixture was set to be Bromsgrove’s U21s’ first home match of 2025, having not played at the UK Electrical Stadium since October 2024.
“Weekends off aren’t ideal but are to be expected at this time of season,” said U21s joint manager, Stuart Carson.
“It is vital now that we try to get a run of games to regain our momentum.
“We will train hard again this week and, fingers crossed, we get the game on Saturday.”
Elsewhere this week, Sporting’s First Team saw the return of a familiar face in U21s player, Bo Morris.Â
The young talent appeared in Saturday’s matchday squad for the first team’s away game against Bedford Town.
Bo made his debut for the first team in November 2024 and has spent time on loan at Pershore Town.
Stu Carson said: “It was great to see Bo with the first team on Tuesday.
“We have also seen some of the other lads drop into first team training and apply themselves well, which is very encouraging for all.”
Moving onto this week, Sporting are preparing to visit Coventry United U21s for the first time.
After their last scheduled clash for December was cancelled, Coventry United U21s are the only team in the league that the Rouslers have yet to face this season.
The home side are currently sixth in the league with 12 points and go into Saturday following a 2-5 home defeat to Coalville Town Ravens U21s in the Challenge Bowl Group Stage.
However, they are not to be underestimated, having thrashed Diamonds Academy U21s 6-0 and beaten Cadbury Athletic U21s 2-0 to cement their strong home form in recent league clashes.
Bromsgrove U21s will be aiming to come away with a good result off the back of two recent losses against Meadow Park (in the Cup) and Stourbridge U21s.
You can catch Bromsgrove Sporting U21s against Coventry United U21s at the Massey Ferguson Sports Ground on Saturday 15th February at 10:30am.
