U21s SUMMARY: The Latest News – NOTE: Saturday game is OFF

A spirited Bromsgrove Sporting U21s fell short at Stourbridge U21s on Saturday, losing 4-1.

The league leaders opened the scoring with a quick through ball before waltzing around the visitors and tapping in.

It wasn’t long before Bromsgrove equalised, after a determined Alemi Obey-GM slammed the ball home after his headed attempt was deflected.

The home side soon found space to drive forward and slice the ball through Bromsgrove’s defence to score. Despite some close chances, including Man of the Match Ollie Jones’ strike hitting the crossbar, Stourbridge led 2-1 at the break.

The second half saw Stourbridge control the pace of the game, nail their shots and gradually wear down the Rouslers to grab another two before the final whistle.

“We showed spirit at 2-1 and were right in it,” said U21s joint-manager, Mark Reeve.

“We were unlucky not to draw level at half-time, but the second half saw the game drift away in the end.”

Next up, the Rouslers take on Solihull Sporting U21s in Bromsgrove’s first home game since October.

The two sides come together again, after their recent clash ended in a resounding 8-2 victory for Bromsgrove.

After last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Boldmere St Michaels U21s, Solihull remain on six points and one from the bottom of the table. Bromsgrove also stay put in fourth after Saturday’s loss.

The visitors will be keen to give a better performance this time around and the Rouslers will hope to impress in their first home game of 2025.

“It’s great to finally be back at the UK Electrical Stadium on Saturday for our first home game since October,” said Mark Reeve.

“It’s such a great venue for the team and we look forward to the league match with great anticipation.

“With the first team on away duties, come on down for your football fix this Saturday if you’re free!”

Bromsgrove Sporting U21s face Solihull Sporting U21s on Saturday 8th February at the UK Electrical Stadium (10:30 KO).

UPDATE: This weekend’s game against Solihull Sporting U21s has been postponed.
