U18s FOOTBALL: Returning to Bromsgrove

Bromsgrove Sporting is delighted to announce that Midland Floodlit Youth Football will be returning to the UK Electrical Stadium, from the 2026/27 season.

This is an exciting opportunity for youngsters in the local area to come along and trial for this new team.

Players will have the opportunity to train throughout the week and play matches on a designated weeknight at our home stadium and other surrounding pitches across the Midlands.

Director of Football, Iain Queen, commented: “This is something which the club has been missing for several years and now feels like the right time for us to set up an U18 Floodlit team, which will hopefully attract some quality players to come and be a part of our male pathway. Following the success of our U21 team, our next step as a club was to fill the only other gap in our pathway. The U18 Floodlit League is a competitive league and will hopefully feed into our current U21 team, whilst also supporting our Football Education Programme, in partnership with Colmers School and Sixth Form College.

To accommodate this new team, it does mean that sadly we are no longer able to accommodate our Vets team at the UK Electrical Stadium next season. We thank the Vets for their support over the years, and we hope they continue to play under the Bromsgrove Sporting banner next season and beyond.

The first trial date is Tuesday 7th April 2026, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the UK Electrical Stadium.

There has been a lot of interest from prospective new managers and coaches and we have spoken to and interviewed numerous people for the position of U18 manager.

We are delighted to introduce our new management team who will coach the U18’s next season…

Jody Craddock: A player with vast Premier League experience, playing and captaining clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanders and Sunderland. Considered a club legend at both teams, Jody now spends his time as an artist and coaching his sons football team.

David Andrewartha: David is an experienced coach who is currently working with 2 teams in the local area at U16 and U21 level. David was on the books of Aston Villa in his youth and also represented clubs such as Shrewsbury Town and AFC Telford.

Matt Birley: Former Birmingham City academy player, who played in the Premier League before having a successful career at different levels of the football pyramid, representing clubs such as Worcester City, Halesowen Town, and Bromsgrove Rovers.

Dan Parker: Dan and his father Martin are well respected scouts in the local area and have been working for club for a number of years watching players and opposition. Dan has played for numerous clubs in non-league and represented Bromsgrove Sporting in the 2014-15 season.

All four coaches will offer our youngsters great knowledge from their own playing experiences and backgrounds in football. All are local people who want to develop players and help them on their journey in football.

We hope you join us in welcoming Jody, David, Matt and Dan to Bromsgrove Sporting Football Club.
