PLAYER NEWS: Shaw & Lyden Retained, Lycett Leaves

Bromsgrove Sporting are delighted to announce that both Billy Shaw and Jordan Lyden have committed to the club for the 2025/26 season.

Popular midfielder Billy enjoyed another brilliant season with Sporting, after a brief spell at Redditch United early on during the last campaign. His consistent performances were rewarded by being the recipient of manager Scott Adey-Linforth’s Player of the Season for 2024/25.

On staying at Sporting, Billy commented: “I am really excited to be a part of this club again going into the new season. I am itching for the first game back and to meet up with the rest of the squad and fans again. Hopefully we can kick on from some of the strong performances we had in the second half of the season!”

Classy central midfielder Jordan was brought to the club swiftly after Scott Adey-Linforth became Sporting manager in November – the former Aston Villa midfielder’s regular cool and composed performances ensured he would prove to be an important addition to the squad.

On committing to Bromsgrove, Jordan commented: “I’m delighted to be staying next season! I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and me and my family have felt welcome since joining. We have a very good squad that the gaffer has built and I feel like next season we can push on following a very good second half of last season. I can’t wait to get started already next season.”

In other news, defender Carter Lycett has chosen to leave Sporting, joining Rushall Olympic. Here, he teams up with manager Ian Long, who he played under during his time at Walsall Wood. We wish Carter all the best in the future.

We hope you will join us in welcoming Billy and Jordan back to Sporting for next season!
