  • Bromsgrove Sporting U18 Girls. They entertained league leaders Lye Town last weekend and earnt a very hard fought draw, with final score being 2-2. The game started and Bromsgrove were put under pressure immediately by Lye, who were playing some good football. However, it was a mistake that led to the first goal in the fifth minute – Lye continued to push hard and were rewarded with a second goal after 18mins, again a costly mistake. The Sporting girls rallied and began to get their passing game going – a shot just past the post and one went just over the bar. 2-0 down at half time. The second half was a different story – the girls began to exert pressure on the Lye defence and it was no surprise that after 58 mins, Bromsgrove got the equaliser from Amélie. 10 minutes later, Hannah calmly put the ball in the net to make it 2-2. The last 20 minutes saw both teams in a physical battle with no quarter given; Bromsgrove’s defence was tremendous and they made chances at the other end, being a little fortunate not to come away with the winner. A great performance by all. Next weeks game isn’t any easier, as they play league contenders Worcester at home, where they anticipate another humdinger of a game.
  • The Under 18s are recruiting for their squad – contact Alan Williams on 07786 983 951 for more info.
