Our Southern League Premier Central match on Saturday 30th November, versus Royston Town, was sponsored by Steve Richards’ 40th birthday party!
As part of their sponsorship package, Steve and his friends had the chance to choose their Man of the Match, who they decided was defender Jak Hickman.
After the 1-1 draw, they had a picture with Jak!
As well as all this, they enjoyed a pre-game three course meal, a tour of the Victoria Ground, full matchday hospitality & complimentary programmes.
Reflecting on the day, Steve commented: “It was an amazing day and I had the most amazing time – thanks to everyone at the club!”
Steve’s friend Alison added: “We had a fantastic time. Thank you, especially to Shep (Dave Sheppard) who looked after us.”

Another member of the party, Mike, was full of praise for the day, saying: “Thank you all so much for all the work you did into making it a great day for all and being so accommodating. I know Steve had a great birthday as a result. The food was also excellent.
“A big thanks to Shep, as he kept the whole day moving along nicely and nothing was too much bother for him – I still can’t believe how quickly he got the squad to sign the programme!
“I would definitely recommend the day to anyone.”
