Stamford 3 (Shaw 17', Bartle 35', Blunden 38')
Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Meddows 40' P, Lycett 64', Crook Red Card 87')
Bromsgrove Sporting came up just short in their endeavours to overhaul a three goal deficit on Saturday afternoon, as they lost 3-2 at Stamford.
Sporting were left with the proverbial mountain to climb after goals from Lee Shaw, Connor Bartle and James Blunden put the home side into a commanding lead.
Bromsgrove's Jamie Meddows netted from the penalty spot shortly after Stamford's third went in and Carter Lycett headed home from close range to reduce the gap to just the single goal, but the equaliser would prove unattainable for the Rouslers, with the Daniels going on to take all three points.
The deadlock was broken 17 minutes in, as Shaw slotted home with a well taken effort.
Sporting almost levelled moments later when Charlie Wragg got on the end of an undercooked header back to the keeper- unfortunately for him, his left footed strike across goal went narrowly wide.
A deflected Bartle strike 35 minutes in doubled Stamford's lead before Blunden's header from close range three minutes later made Bromsgrove's afternoon a whole lot worse.
However, the reply to the third goal was fairly instant, as Meddows coolly slotted home a penalty in the 40th minute after Aksum White was felled in the area.
That goal was almost cancelled out in added time, but Sporting stopper Charlie Price was equal to a close range strike from Tendai Chitiza.
Lycett's goal came in the 64th minute; Meddows' cross into the box was palmed by keeper Tom Jackson straight into the path of the former Walsall Wood man, who had the simplest header into the net from mere yards out.
Both teams had chances just shy of the 70th minute mark, as Shaw had a shot kept out by Price and subsequently cleared by Ethan Patterson before Wragg found himself in a brilliant position but could only shoot straight at Jackson.
The 74th minute saw a deflected strike from White fly into Jackson's grasp, whilst the 87th minute saw Sporting substitute Harry Crook sent off for an apparent stamping offence.
Crook wasn't the only person from Sporting to be shown a red card, as manager Paul Smith and assistant coach Scott Adey-Linforth were both given their marching orders by the referee.
Meddows had an opportunity to bag Bromsgrove's third in the first minute of additional time, but his strike went just wide of the target.
