St Ives Town 2 (Allen 28', Glennon 49')
Bromsgrove Sporting 3 (Lycett 7' & 90+6', Robinson 15')
For the second time in three away matches, Bromsgrove Sporting ran out 3-2 victors via a winner scored deep into additional time.
19 days after beating Barwell, the Rouslers were inflicting a dramatic defeat by the same scoreline onto St Ives Town. Carter Lycett and Theo Robinson both scored to give Sporting an early two goal lead - Josh Allen and Will Glennon found the net to bring the home side level, but a magical free kick from Lycett six minutes into added time saw Scott Adey-Linforth's men claim all three points.
The opener came seven minutes in, as a cross-shot from Lycett looped over keeper Dan Wilks and into the goal.
Bromsgrove's incredible start continued eight minutes later, as they doubled their lead through a well-worked team goal - Jamie Meddows weaved his way through the midfield, allowing him to find Lycett, who put it on a plate for Robinson to convert at the back post.
It was almost three in the 26th minute, as Reece King headed the ball into the path of Reece Styche; the Sporting striker put his effort over the bar from close range, but he was adjudged to have been in an offside position regardless.
St Ives' first meaningful chance of the game came 27 minutes in; Allen found himself through on goal, but his one-on-one effort with an oncoming Charlie Price was well saved by the Sporting stopper.
He would only have to wait another minute for his goal though; there were appeals for offside as George Munday played in Allen, but these were ignored by the match officials, and he wilfully slotted the ball home into an empty net.
Bromsgrove's Jack Newell almost scored an own goal two minutes into the second half, as he got a boot to an enticing cross - fortunately for him, Price was on hand to make a fine instinctive save to keep the ball out.
The leveller would eventually come in the 49th minute, as Glennon headed home with authority from inside the area.
The 68th minute saw Price make another smart save to deny Munday and the Ives striker, who had scored in his last three league games beforehand, put the ball in the net a minute later, but the assistant referee's flag was raised for offside.
Price was forced into two more saves with a little under 20 minutes of normal remaining; firstly, he palmed a cleverly taken Jernade Meade free kick over the bar before outstandingly keeping out an Allen strike just a minute later.
Alex Collard had a golden opportunity to score in the 83rd minute, but the home side's skipper somehow headed the ball over from inside the six yard box, with a large chunk of the goal at his mercy.
The sumptuous winner came from the left foot of Lycett; from 25 yards out, his curled free kick perfectly found the top right corner of the goal, clattering the underside of the crossbar before nestling against the underside of the roof of the net.
Joyous celebrations from travelling players, staff and fans ensued, with the serene strike proving to be the last kick of the game. At 2-0 up, a smash-and-grab style of Bromsgrove win seemed unlikely, but the dominance of the Ives' second half performance meant that this was exactly what was required to take all the points back to Worcestershire.
