Lowestoft Town 3 (Sayer 14, Reed 20', 81')
Bromsgrove Sporting 0
A Jake Reed double helped guide Lowestoft Town to their second win of the season, as they beat Bromsgrove Sporting 3-0.
A finely taken Harvey Sayer free kick 14 minutes in was followed by a brace from the talismanic Reed.
Flynn Clarke narrowly missed the target from around 20 yards out in the fourth minute. The opener came 10 minutes later, as Sayer curled a delicious free kick into the top corner from the edge of the box. Sporting were left unhappy after the goal however, as the decision to award it was contentious, with referee Ben Bowles adjudging Aaron Roberts to have committed a foul despite a vociferous claim that he won the ball.
Owen Murphy almost doubled the lead in the 18th minute but his strike was saved well by Charlie Price. The home side would only have to wait two more minutes for their second though, as Reed found the bottom corner from inside the area.
Sporting had half chances in the first half thereafter, with Jamie Meddows, Charlie Wragg and Kieran Cook all having efforts.
Price made a fine save just before the interval, outstandingly keeping out a Clarke shot from a one on one situation.
Reed struck the ball over the bar five minutes into the second half, whilst Sporting substitute Harry Crook capped a jinking run with a drive well over the bar in the 63rd minute.
Wragg almost got Sporting on the scoresheet four minutes later, but his strike on goal was brilliantly saved by Luke Holt after being played in by another Sporting sub, Ryan Snape.
Reed scored the third with a well taken effort nine minutes from time and Clarke almost added a fourth late on, but his audacious effort from distance skimmed the crossbar before going out.
