Leiston 1
Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Softley 42')
Bromsgrove Sporting picked up another valuable away point on Saturday afternoon, thanks largely to a supreme display from debutant goalkeeper Ellis Litherland.
Luke Softley headed the Rouslers into the lead at the end of the first half, before Harvey Sayer levelled proceedings early in the second.
The home side had plenty of chances to win the game thereafter, but a string of fine saves, including an exceptional one in additional time from a Joao Rangel strike, ensured Sporting would take a share of the spoils back to Worcestershire.
Tyrone Lewthwaite hit the side netting for Sporting in the 8th minute, before Litherland produced the first of many fine saves in the 14th minute to keep out a strike, which was followed by Softley clearing an effort off the line.
The 36th minute saw Sporting's Kyle Rowley block an Adam Mills shot before Litherland saved a Sayer effort well.
The deadlock was broken with three minutes of the opening half remaining, as a cracker of a cross from Brad Stretton was headed home at the far post by Softley.
Leiston equalised in the 51st minute, as Sayer struck the ball inside the area through several bodies before finding the net.
Further chances came Leiston's way, as Eddie Jackson hit the post before Litherland kept out another Sayer attempt, which was followed by Ben Batho blazing the ball over.
Litherland made further incredible stops to keep out efforts from Ronnie Blois and Adam Mills whilst, up the other end, Jack Newell finished off a counter attack with a shot saved by Leiston keeper Billy Johnson.
Bromsgrove's George Wynne struck narrowly wide in the 85th minute, which was followed by Litherland's finest save of the match, as he outstandingly charged down a Rangel effort in a one-on-one position, putting his body on the line to ensure Sporting would claim a point from the entertaining encounter.
