Coming off the back of a great away win against Hednesford Town the previous Tuesday, Bromsgrove Sporting took their second journey of the week to visit Kings Langley in Hertfordshire writes Shaunna-Grace Murphy.

A strong side was put out by the Sporting manager Thomas Baillie with Ryan Edmunds and Lewis Wright taking up the role of wing-backs, something we will probably see more of throughout this season.

With both of their goalkeepers missing due to injury, the home team gave a debut to Jonathan MacAulay, a loanee from Watford and unfortunately for him in the 22nd minute of the game was red-carded after clattering Sporting striker Mikey Taylor when referee Mr Kelly deemed the challenge preventing a goal scoring opportunity. With no reserve 'keeper on the bench, it was down to defender Ryan Case to take the position in goal and whilst not being a specialist, he made a brilliant save following the resulting free-kick.

Though down to 10 men, Kings Langley took the lead 10 minutes later through Udoka Chimaera who finished a cross put in by Jordan Parkes. However it didn't take long for Sporting to get back into the game just before half-time when Dan Sweeney equalised for the Rouslers.

Early in the second half, in-form Ryan Edmunds scored his second in two games, giving Sporting the lead when he neatly slotted home between the goal post and the 'keeper. Shortly after that Sweeney scored his second of the game side-footing into the net from eight yards out.

There was a small fight back from Kings Langley on the 73rd minute when Parkes intercepted a poor clearance scoring a brilliant goal lobbing Sporting keeper Ollie Taylor from a distance. Newcomer Zidan Sutherland made his debut in a Sporting shirt on loan from Colchester United shortly after and nearly scored from his first touch but unfortunately the linesman ruled it offside. Dan Sweeney continued his scoring on the 82nd minute with his second hat-trick of the season making it 4-2 to the away side. In the dying seconds of the game, Harvey Gregson fired home a deserved goal, giving Sporting a great 5-2 victory.

Sporting line-up: Ollie Taylor, Jack Byrne, Lewis Wright (Callum King-Harmes 62 mins), George Forsyth, Tom Taylor, Mike McGrath (Capt), Harvey Gregson, Joe Curtis, Dan Sweeney (Matt Barnes-Homer 83 mins), Mikey Taylor (Zidan Sutherland 72 mins), Ryan Edmunds.
