Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Clayton-Phillips 30', Shaw 32'

A second half capitulation at Evesham United saw Bromsgrove Sporting exit the Emirates FA Cup at the first hurdle.

The Rouslers took a lead into the interval, after goals from Nick Clayton-Phillips and Billy Shaw followed Levi Steele's opener.

However, any joy for Bromsgrove was short lived, as three goals in nine second half minutes left the visitors shell shocked.

Two of these were scored by Reegan Messenger, with the other netted by Andre Wright.

The 90th minute saw the rout completed, with substitute Lewis Middleton finding the goal from close range.

In the 14th minute, Clayton-Phillips saw a well struck effort fly narrowly over the bar; four minutes later, the deadlock was broken, as Steele found the bottom corner from inside the area.

Despite conceding, Sporting went on to dominate the remainder of the opening 45 minutes. Kobe Hall narrowly missed the target in the 22nd minute before he had a goal ruled out for offside four minutes later after knocking in a saved Tom Edge shot on the rebound.

The Sporting pressure eventually told, as Clayton-Phillips found the top corner with a cracking strike from a little over 20 yards out in the 30th minute.

Two minutes later, Bromsgrove led, as Hall's initial saved shot landed nicely into the path of Shaw, who powered the ball home into the net.

Jack Kelly almost doubled the lead in the 38th minute, but his free kick from distance was tipped over well by Evesham stopper Jenson Kilroy.

Amer Awadh and Will Owens both had opportunities late in the half for the Robins, but neither were able to capitalise on them.

The 52nd minute saw Hall have a shot kept out by an acute angle after being played in by Shaw - after that, the Evesham onslaught began. Messenger bundled the ball in from inside the box to level proceedings in the 54th minute before he doubled his personal tally for the afternoon two minutes later, as he bagged from close range.

The 63rd minute saw Wright take further advantage of Bromsgrove's defensive frailties, scoring Evesham's fourth to leave Bromsgrove crestfallen.

Messenger almost notched up his hat trick in the 77th minute but his header went narrowly wide. The scoring would be complete in the 90th minute, as Middleton slotted home into a virtually open net after having the ball served up on a plate for him via a pinpoint assist.
