Bromsgrove Sporting gained a comfortable 6-0 win against Worcester Raiders from the West Midland League Division Two on Tuesday evening in the first round of the Smedley Crooke Memorial Charity Trophy.
Despite having the better of the play and creating a number of chances, Sporting only went in at half-time one up thanks to a Mark Bellingham goal a couple of minutes earlier. Darius Darkin supplying a pin-point cross into the box that the striker fired home from 15 yards.
The Raiders had a few sorties into the Rouslers' half forcing a couple of saves from Jake Bedford but it was the visiting 'keeper who was busiest making a number of class saves.
Liam Molesworth increased the home side's lead seven minutes after the break and opposition heads at that point went visibly down. Six minutes later Mark Bellingham made it three from the penalty spot after being bundled over.
It was then Rico Taylor's turn to get a slice of the action on 62 minutes when the nippy winger got his first for the Club hitting a hard low shot just above the ground that swerved under visiting keeper Dan Stephens.
Five minutes later Mark Bellingham completed his hat-trick with Matt Poyner getting a deserved goal with eighteen minutes to go.
Raiders then rallied and attempted to get on to the score-sheet but with the home defence well organised, they were denied any opportunities.
So Sporting progress to the next round but fair play to Raiders who had a good first half but faded dramatically in the second.
