Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (Sanches 8', Shaw 83')
Royston Town 0
Bromsgrove Sporting made it five home matches unbeaten with a solid victory over Royston Town.
Goals from Gus Sanches and Billy Shaw succumbed the Crows, who are currently seven points adrift of safety, to their ninth game without a win in all competitions
The deadlock was broken after eight minutes, as a long ball forward from debutant goalkeeper Rory Brown, who is on loan from National League Solihull Moors, allowed Sanches to round Royston stopper Louis Chadwick and slot home into an empty net.
The impressive Luke Softley made a fine last ditch tackle to thwart a Royston attack in the 28th minute, whilst Brown saved an Adam Murray header just before half time.
Sporting's Brad Stretton had a shot well saved by Chadwick early in the second half and, up the other end, Josh Ezewele made an outstanding goal line clearance to keep out another Murray header.
Bromsgrove midfielder Jack Newell had an opportunity in the 73rd minute, but his effort from distance flew narrowly over.
The lead was doubled in the 83rd minute, as Shaw powered forward and found the net with an accurate left footed drive from inside the area.
Stretton, along with substitutes Koby Arthur and Tom Edge, all had chances for Sporting to add a third, but were unable to make the most of them.
