Bromsgrove Sporting 1 (Lewthwaite 63' P,
Redditch United 1 (Brown 76', Ward 29 Red Card 29')
Bromsgrove Sporting and Redditch United shared the points in a typically feisty Worcestershire derby.
Debutant Tyrone Lewthwaite gave Sporting the lead from the penalty spot after former Rousler Luke Ward was sent off in the first half.
Despite Bromsgrove dominating most of the game, substitute Omari Brown netted with a little under 15 minutes remaining to end a run of 16 league matches without a draw for Redditch.
The visitors almost went behind early doors when Morgan Owen headed the ball onto the underside of his own crossbar.
The red card 29 minutes in, as Ward was given his marching orders for kicking out at Jordan Lyden.
Bromsgrove's Billy Shaw had the ball in the back of the net two minutes into the second half, but it was ruled out for handball.
15 minutes later, Josh Ezewele had a shot saved and Lyden was brought down in the area - Lewthwaite stepped up and confidently slotted the ball home.
Bromsgrove had a golden opportunity to double their lead in the 72nd minute, when Tom Edge found Luke Benbow with an outstanding pass - unfortunately he didn't manage to find the net with his effort.
Sporting stopper Rory Brown tipped a 75th minute header onto the bar in outstanding fashion, but a minute later, Brown equalised via a well placed shot from inside the area.
