Bromsgrove Sporting 2 (McDonald 1', Dowd 3') Leicester Road 1 (Langham (P) 71')
Goals from Shaquille McDonald and Charlie Dowd led Bromsgrove Sporting to a 2-1 win over Leicester Road.
Bromsgrove got off to the best possible start, with two goals inside the first three minutes.
Firstly, just 60 seconds in, Nathan Hayward battled to win the ball in midfield and played through McDonald, who showed pace to burn off his defenders and powered home into the bottom corner.
Two minutes later, it was two, as a Kyle Perry strike from 25 yards that clattered the crossbar was tapped into an empty net by Dowd.
The remainder of the first half was devoid of any real chances, with Dowd and Perry both having shots straight at keeper Will Highland.
The first big chance of the second half saw substitute Richard Gregory clatter the crossbar with a rasping strike from 20 yards.
The visitors halved the deficit against the run of play 20 minutes from time, as Grant Horton was adjudged to have made a foul in the area... up stepped substitute Matt Langham, who slotted home into the bottom corner with aplomb.
Leicester Road thought they had levelled proceedings soon after, but a cracking volley from Langham was ruled offside by the assistant referee.
It was almost three for Sporting with 10 minutes to go, as Hayward headed to Perry in the box, who hit the bar before seeing the ball bounce on the line.
