Bromsgrove Sporting picked up a crucial three points, as they won their first home game of 2026 by a single goal.

The match winner was Billy Shaw, who slotted home with five minutes of normal time remaining.

Sporting striker Luke Benbow almost broke the deadlock after just four minutes, but his header from Jack Kelly's pinpoint cross was magnificently saved by Barwell keeper Finn Osborn.

Tyrone Lewthwaite had a good chance to score in the final moments of the half, but his effort was deflected wide.

Lewthwaite had a trio of chances early in the second half - the Bromsgrove forward was unable to capitalise on any of them however.

Osborn was called into action once again just after the hour mark, as he superbly tipped a dipping Benbow free kick from just outside the box over the bar.

The 67th minute saw Barwell's Jevin Seaton have a shot well saved by keeper Rory Brown, whilst Sporting substitute Jack Newell hit the post with a well struck drive five minutes later.

The winner came via a well worked team move - Brown's kick forward was headed by Lewthwaite to Theo Robinson, who saw his inviting pass knocked in by the persistent Shaw from inside the six yard box.

Emanuel Nnaji had a late chance to level proceedings, but his shot was blocked away.
