There’s only one place to be this Saturday and that’s the Victoria Ground, as we welcome Peterborough Sports to the Victoria Ground for a mouthwatering Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central encounter. Here’s the pre-match info as 2nd face 1st in what will be one of the biggest games of the season thus far.
What a game this promises to be. Bromsgrove, who are 100% at home in the league this season (6 from 6), welcome a Peterborough Sports outfit who are chasing an eighth consecutive league win.
Following a winless run of games for Peterborough, spanning part of September and October, they have not looked back since, racking up wins against the impressive Corby Town and Bedford Town, with the last of those seven successes being a 7-0 dismantling of AFC Dunstable.
Bromsgrove’s last ‘game’ was on 20th November vs Thame United, in an 1-1 away draw. Of course, the last time we were in action was Saturday just passed, in which we were 3-1 up at half time against 10 men vs Didcot Town, before floodlight failure brought a premature end to the game at half time.
Despite only being 45 minutes, those in attendance would arguably be correct in saying that was the best we had played all season, against a smart Didcot Town team, so with that in mind, this Saturday looks sure to be a cracker.
With the aforementioned floodlight issues now dealt with, it is simply a no-brainer to get down to the VG and support the team!
We need YOU!
A further statement on the floodlight’s fixing
The floodlights have been repaired at the Victoria Ground and tomorrow’s match (Saturday 8th December) against Peterborough Sports will go ahead with a kick-off at 3:00 p.m.
Chairman Mike Burke said: “We are grateful to engineers from Musco, the light installers, and Shared Access, who operate the mobile phone mast, for their efforts.
“In addition, I am grateful to the ground staff at The Victoria Ground and the volunteers who have also worked hard this week to get the repair fixed and the pitch ready.
“We are now looking forward to what should be a competitive and entertaining football match against League leaders, Peterborough Sports.”
