OPPOSITION

  • 2024/25 league position: 6th (Southern League Premier Central – one place and two points outside the play offs)
  • Last season: P42 W20 D9 L13. GD +2. 69 points.
  • Last season away: P21 W8 D5 L8. GD -7. 29 points.
  • This season: P9 W0 D4 L5. GD -10. They sit 22th and bottom.
  • Last league match: Kettering Town. 1-1 draw. Away. 23rd September.
  • The Daniels are the only team in the league to have not won a game so far this season.
  • They are the league’s lowest scorers, with four goals, and they have the second worst goal difference (-10, the worst being Sudbury’s -12).
  • Their four goals means they’ve scored in fewer league games than they haven’t.
  • With 1-1 draws versus Kettering and Redditch (H, 9th Sept), they’ve picked up half of their points inside their last two matches.
  • Their other points were in draws at home to Halesowen (1-1) and Alvechurch (0-0).
  • Away from home in the league, they had lost their first three matches (Needham Market 4-1, Bishop’s Stortford 1-0 and St Ives 1-0) before drawing with Kettering.
  • On the road, they’ve picked up one point, scored two goals and have a -5 goal difference; only Sudbury are worse on all these metrics (0 points, one goal, -11 GD).
  • Of their four goals scored this season – they’ve come in four separate games. The two most recent ones were in their last two matches, both scored by attacker Kai Tonge, and both in second half added time (including in the 1-1 with Kettering, which, as mentioned, was their only point on the road).
  • Their other two goals were scored by defender Kyle Rowley and striker Jack Duffy, from the penalty spot – Duffy is no longer with the club.
  • Despite their indifferent league form, they’ve done better in the FA Cup. They’d won three matches, without conceding a goal, before losing 1-0 at National League North Macclesfield in the Fourth Qualifying Round on Saturday.
  • In the FA Trophy, they lost 3-1 at fellow Southern League Premier Central side Real Bedford in the Third Qualifying Round last Saturday.
