PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Sanches on September award win

Before Saturday’s match with Bury Town, forward Gus Sanches marked winning Player of the Month for September with his sponsors for the season – Daniel Blythe and Kelly Downing!

Gus won September Player of the Month with 44% of the vote, seeing off fierce competition from Reece King, Billy Shaw and Jack Newell.

Goals against Banbury and Quorn, as well as a top performance against Barwell, were undoubtedly factors in the attacker winning the award.

Reflecting on winning the award, Gus commented: “I’m delighted to have won Player of the Month, but I’m even happier with the fact that the team has been playing brilliant.

“I think September was a massive turning point for everyone at Bromsgrove – not just me – and that’s what it is important.

“Nonetheless, I will keep working hard and contribute to the team with goals and assists and hopefully win another Player of the Month!

“As I previously said when I joined Bromsgrove fans, can expect pace, trickery and goals from me, so I will keep doing my best to deliver. Come on Sporting!”

A thoroughly deserved award for Gus, in what has been a superb start to the season!
