COACHES’ CORNER: Gavin Hurren Previews Peterborough Sports

Ahead of Saturday’s Pitching In Southern League Premier Central match, away at Peterborough Sports (3:00 KO), manager Gavin Hurren has previewed the fixture, as well as reflecting on our previous match and providing a squad update.

“Against Rushall, the first 30 minutes obviously weren’t good enough – the lads and myself take full responsibility. Credit to Rushall – they came out the traps well and forced us into errors.

“We need to quickly forget about it, learn from it and put it right for both tomorrow and the remainder of the season.

“The next few weeks are going to be tough fixture-wise and the lads need to stand tall.

“We appreciate all the support that everybody is showing and we all need to come together, as we look to finish the season as strongly as possible.

“Peterborough Sports will be a really tough game. They’re in the play-offs for a reason and they’ve got a good team.

The weather is going to play a key part. It’ll no doubt be cold, wet and windy and we will have to show battling qualities against the elements.

“Cody Fisher, Miro Pais and Jack Newell are all still out injured, Callum Ebanks is still suspended and we hope to have Tom Taylor back for either tomorrow or Tuesday’s game at Leiston – we’ll keep assessing that situation.”
