U18s & U21s: Youth Pathway Round-Up

Below is the latest round-up of the season featuring the freshest news from both our U21s and new U18s sides, from Matt Tennant…

U21s

Bromsgrove Sporting’s U21s stunned Brocton U21s in a superb 5-1 away victory on Saturday.

Sporting had a 2-0 lead at half time before continuing their onslaught, despite an early Brocton goal after the break.

Man of the Match Zak Parr’s second half penalty made it two, with Fin Carson, Jack Wyton and Josh Long adding to Bromsgrove’s scoresheet.

“Some great performances from the whole squad first two games and we will look to continue over the coming weeks,” said U21s joint-manager Stu Carson.

“We’ve made a few changes this season and it’s pleasing to see the lads taking it on board.

“The lads are training well and with greater emphasis on detail and higher standards throughout the group, we will continue to push them.”

Bromsgrove’s Under-21s welcome Coalville Town U21s in their first home game at the UK Electrical Stadium this Saturday (22nd August – 10:30 KO).

U18s

Bromsgrove’s Under 18s also enjoyed a strong 3-1 win against Studley on Monday, in their first ever home game.

The team played well – in both attack and defence – creating several chances, with trio Ashton Hunt, Cody Baker and George Andrewartha scoring a goal each.

“It was a great home win for us this week and I’m so chuffed and proud of the lads for their efforts,” said U18s coach Dave Andrewartha.

“The lads worked tirelessly and putting a really great performance really calm compose and control performance which is great.”

The team also played a friendly against Worcester City on Wednesday night to continue their development with more game time.

The U18s travel to Paget Rangers this Monday.
