U21s SUMMARY: The Latest News

This article about our U21s side, from Matt Tennant, reflects on last weekend’s important win and this Saturday’s fixture…

Bromsgrove Sporting U21s bagged a 0-3 win at Diamonds Academy U21s in their emphatic return to league action.

Sporting’s Zak Parr led the charge to score the opener before Brendan Field added a fine finish to give the visitors an 0-2 lead into half time.

Diamonds Academy appeared stronger in the second half, but they were unable to dent a comfortable Sporting unit after Alemi GM found the back of the net.

The result was Bromsgrove’s fourth win of the season, pushing the team up to thirteenth in the league, on 12 points.

Sporting’s under-21s joint-manager, Mark Reeve, said: “Following last week’s defeat in the WFA cup, it was important that we bounced back to winning ways in the league.

“We quickly took control of the game taking the lead and then extending it to a comfortable two goal lead into the break.

“The second half was less of a game. It was scrappy at times, but we finally found a way with the third goal. It should have been more with the chances provided, but it’s good to get back to back league wins.”

This week, Bromsgrove visit Coalville Town Ravens U21, in a vital matchup for both teams.

Sporting’s U21s find themselves similarly matched to their opponents once again – Coalville have secured five wins in the league so far this season, with a mixed bag of results including an 0-8 loss against Rushall Olympic U21s and an impressive 7-2 victory over SJB Juniors U21s.

With Coalville currently sitting in twelfth on 15 points, Bromsgrove are only one place behind them – this weekend’s victors are guaranteed to end the weekend ahead of their opponent.

As both sides vie to climb the table in such a competitive League, this clash is an important fixture

You can catch all the action as Bromsgrove Sporting U21s play Coalville Town Ravens U21s at the Voltage Solutions Stadium on Saturday (10:30 KO).
