COACHES’ CORNER: Paul Smith Previews Chelmsford City

Ahead of today’s Emirates FA Cup match, away at Chelmsford City (3:00 KO), manager Paul Smith has spoken about the fixture and the size of the challenge at hand…

“The magic of the FA Cup is upon us again; there’s no dressing it up though – this is a huge task. We are on the back of three straight league defeats, while Chelmsford are a division higher than us and in great form.

“As a manager, I hope the players have my mentality in these situation. I’ve always loved being the underdog – it has brought the best out of me and I hope it does for them too.

“On our day, we have played very well so far this season, and we will need one of those performances if we have any chance of getting something positive out of the tie.

“There will be a shock somewhere in this round of the FA Cup – why can’t it be us?”
